Rose Marie has planned a really special event, with a full itinerary.  We all know Rose Marie knows her way around SF, and she will guide us through all the interesting sites along the way as we navigate the transportation.

Dress warm, wear a hat, and bring a small backpack for a light cloth or blanket if you want to sit and enjoy the garden.

 Please get there on time so we can get a group picture at 10:20.

Below is the detailed itinerary:

10:00AM Meeting at SF Hyatt Regency-restrooms

Meet in front of fountain -need $15. for seniors 64 and up; under that $25. on your Clipper Card

10:20. Picture, then  leave  to walk up Market St to Fremont St.

10:32. 5R bus

11:18. end of line La Playa and Cabrillo Sts.

Walk to Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden,1690 John F Kennedy Dr.

11:30 West entrance to Golden Gate Park across from the ocean. The tulip bulbs and the windmill were gifts to SF from the Netherlands 1903 as symbol of friendship and peace. First came tulip garden then the gift of the windmill. Landscaping surrounding Dutch windmill also a gift, the gift of tulip bulbs each year for last 120 years by Dutch bulb growers association. The windmill pumped 30,000 gallons of water per hour to irrigate the Golden Gate Park.

Enjoy tulips, Icelandic poppies and prim roses helping to beautify the entrance to Golden Gate Park. Originally, this area was all sand dunes.

We'll use restrooms downstairs -notice the floor..

Walking upstairs notice the octopus that wraps around the balusters that supports railing.

Request a table by the window to see ocean across the street. Restaurant reviews: people loved their brussels sprouts, clam chowder, whole grilled Branzine fish w garlic rice 'n greens, fish n chips enough to share, pan sear sea bass, corn beef 'n hash, their flat iron steak, and their beignets and delicious coffee.

12:30 to 2. lunch -ask for your check when they bring your food -pay the bill. Leisurely enjoy your lunch. Restrooms downstairs

2:10. Group will divide in 2 groups.

Both groups will end up on the same Bart platform Civic Center

For those want a shorter walk we'll return to

2:24 Cabrillo and La Playa Sts. - 5R bus

3:01 McAllister and Van Ness- If there's time we'll

stop and see beautiful lobby of SF City Hall

Walk to Civic Center Bart 8 minute walk

Wait on platform use escalator or elevator

2:10 Group B leave Beach Chalet walk to your left on the path parallel to Great Highway.8 miles to La Playa and Judah Sts. Follow Stuart and Zendra

2:31 N-Judah streetcar sit is first car by the driver

Steep step getting in car. Sit near Zendra and Stuart

3:11 Get off underground at Civic Center Bart

Go up stairs exit out of Muni and enter Bart Station

We'll meet on platform some folks looking for Berryessa platform & others Walnut Creek

3:20 -Green line Berryessa line

3:30 Antioch line -Lafayette

4:00.  Fremont  and Lafayette

You will need to register for this event so Rose Marie will know how many to plan for.  Costs for the tour will be on the next posting, as well as details about where to meet, itinerary, and what time the lunch is.
