SEPT 6 OUTBOUND JOURNEY CALGARY

JOIN US FOR A FUN-FILLED OUTBOUND JOURNEY TO CALGARY

 PLANS IN WORKS FOR POST JOURNEY ACTIVITIES                                                                  Contact Rose Marie Everett or Linda Guyer for more information and to sign up         Here are some of the fun activities planned by Cheryl Worthy - Calgary FF Journey Coordinator:

1. Wed. Sept. 6 -Arrival at YYC Calgary Airport:  Get to know your host; dinner at hosts house.

2. Thurs. Sept. 7 - 1st day of our Journey. Choose between a visit to the Hutterite Colony, or Leighton Art Center. You’ll see stunning mountain views and stop at Saskatoon Berry Farm for lunch or tea, pie and scones.

3. Fri. Sept. 8 - Spruce Meadows with reserved seating in the International Ring. Spruce Meadows is large world class equestrian facility with numerous horse-jumping rings and other interesting venues that you can wander through there, like variety of foods and arts marketplaces, music, and performers. There are major competitions going on Sept 6-10 with top riders and horses from Canada, US, Mexico and Europe. Competition 10-5PM

Evening -small informal dinners for ambassadors and hosts.

4. Sat. Sept 9- Downtown Calgary -take the LRT public transport to downtown.

Meet at Calgary Tower 10:30AM to have brunch at rotating restaurant on top 600 meters high tower.Takes 1 hour to rotate while slowly eating and enjoying views.Calgary Tower -magnificent views 360 degrees.Cost of brunch includes ticket to top of tower.

Then the rest of day you’re free to explore downtown. Calgary has beautiful new library might be fun to check it out and its unique architect and interior. Calgary Music Hall is performing arts center near for an entrance fee. For those great walkers check out Peace Bridge -beautiful design like huge outdoor red and yellow tunnel all enclosed.

Then we’ll take the LRT back with our Calgary FF Day Hosts

5. Sun. Sept. 10 Heritage Park -This venue is similar to Ardenwood Farms in Fremont but much larger. We'll have access to whole park, including: Gasoline Alley -Vintage cars. Fun place to take pictures.It is Railway Days - train ride fun - old train we'll take after lunch.

6. Mon.  Sept. 11. -Free Day up until 3PM -Maybe we do Hutterite Colony if we missed on Monday. 4PM -Farewell Party with FF Calgary group

7. Tues. Sept. 12 -Say are good byes to our hosts, and either fly home or enjoy an extension, plans in the works. Ideas: Banff and Lake Louise
