Our Friendship Forest leader, Karen McCready, is planning our World Friendship Day Workday and Celebration. This event, originally planned for March 19th had to be cancelled on account of rain, but we are back June 10th with better weather!
We arrive at our Friendship Forest in Prusch Park around 9:00 AM to do weeding, plaque cleaning and other clean-up and then enjoy our sack lunches that each of us has brought. We will also have dessert provided by the club to celebrate World Friendship Day.
What to bring: Be sure to bring a bottle of water, a hat, your lunch with drink, gloves, and a small gardening tool (optional) to help with weeding and perhaps something to sit on such as a light, portable stool or blanket as there is limited seating at the forest. Since the forest is at the other end of the park from the parking lot (perhaps 200 yards or so), please don’t try to carry too much! Also, what you carry in you have to carry out, so please be conservative!
NOTE: If you happen to have a "hula hoe," one of those flexible hoes that is made for getting under the weeds, please bring it with your name on it.
NOTE: Registration is recommended but not required, as it helps us get an idea for dessert.

Once in the parking lot, park as close to the white house and the second entrance path as you can. Walk along the path bearing right until you come to the barn-shaped gazebo; the gazebo marks the entrance to the forest. The gazebo is a public art piece nostalgically titled “The Last Barn."
