Our Friendship Forest leader, Karen McCready, is planning our World Friendship Day Workday and Celebration. This event, originally planned for March 19th had to be cancelled on account of rain, but we are back June 10th with better weather!

We arrive at our Friendship Forest in Prusch Park around 9:00 AM to do weeding, plaque cleaning and other clean-up and then enjoy our sack lunches that each of us has brought.  We will also have dessert provided by the club to celebrate World Friendship Day.

What to bring:  Be sure to bring a bottle of water, a hat, your lunch with drink, gloves, and a small gardening tool (optional) to help with weeding and perhaps something to sit on such as a light, portable stool or blanket as there is limited seating at the forest. Since the forest is at the other end of the park from the parking lot (perhaps 200 yards or so), please don’t try to carry too much! Also, what you carry in you have to carry out, so please be conservative!

NOTE: If you happen to have a "hula hoe," one of those flexible hoes that is made for getting under the weeds, please bring it with your name on it.

NOTE: Registration is recommended but not required, as it helps us get an idea for dessert.

Directions to Emma Prusch Farm Park

From southbound 680, take exit 1C for King Road. At the intersection turn left onto South King Road and then turn right at Lido (the next driveway); this is the entrance to the park.

From southbound 280: Southbound 280 becomes northbound 680. Take exit 1A from northbound 680 for King Road.  At the intersection turn right onto S. King Road. Then, turn right at Lido (the next signal light); this is the entrance to the park.

From northbound highway 101: Take exit 385 for Story Road. Turn Right at the fork and merge onto Story Road. Then, turn left onto South King Road and turn left again at Lido; this is the entrance to the park.

From southbound highway 101: There is no direct route to the park.  Instead, take highway 101 southbound to 280 southbound (or to 680 southbound) and follow those directions.

Directions to the Friendship Forest

Once in the parking lot, park as close to the white house and the second entrance path as you can. Walk along the path bearing right until you come to the barn-shaped gazebo; the gazebo marks the entrance to the forest. The gazebo is a public art piece nostalgically titled “The Last Barn."
