We Enjoy a Sail on the Hawaiian Chieftain

Cy Donaldson, like Captain Ishmael Ahab commanding the Pequod, takes the helm of the Hawaiian Chieftain and searches San Francisco Bay for the great white whale. Thirty-three FFSFBA members enjoyed the scenery, the food and wine, and the thrill of a voyage before the mast on the most popular of our FF Special Events. Cy wears a peajacket furnished by the crew.
John Randall makes an entry in the Hawaiian Chieftain's log. The weather was brisk with high fog. Two highlights of the cruise were the firing of the ship's 3-pounder gun, and the breathtaking sight of two young female crew members clambering high up the mast to set and lower the sails.
